Bananas Foster Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 Banana peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 4 oz Chicken sausage links sliced

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whip the cream until it becomes firm (use an electric mixer or whip by hand), then set aside.
  • Add bananas, sugar, and butter to a non-stick pan. Cook over low-medium heat, then stir in the cinnamon and vanilla. Allow it to reduce into a syrup consistency.
  • Add the milk and oats to a saucepan over medium heat and stir until combined. Cook according to the instructions on the package. Once cooked, cover with a lid and set aside.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat, brown the sausage slices on both sides.
  • Spoon the bananas over the oatmeal, top with whipped cream, and serve with chicken sausage.
