Instructions
Preheat the oven broiler on low.
In an omelet pan or small skillet melt the butter. Add in the apples, brown sugar, salt, lemon juice and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and cook until the apples start to soften and the liquid is a deep golden brown, about 10 - 15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Place the topping ingredients in a bowl. Mix until clumps form, like wet sand. (add more melted butter if needed) Spread over the apples, crumbling with fingers if required to get that crumbly topping.
Place underneath the broiler until the topping is a dark golden brown. Remove and set aside to cool for about 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
