Ingredients

Honey Butter

  • 2 TBSP Butter softened at room temp
  • 1 TBSP Honey

Apple Arugula and Brie Panini

  • 4 slices Sourdough bread (or any crusty French bread)
  • 2 oz Brie cheese rind removed and cut into thin slices
  • 1 Granny Smith apple cored and sliced
  • 1 cup Arugula

Cheese and Crackers

  • 12 Crackers
  • 12 slices Your favorite block cheese example: parmesan brie etc.

Riesling

  • 8 oz Riesling chilled

Instructions

  • Make the honey butter by whisking the butter and honey until smooth. Reserve.
  • Heat your panini press (or a grill pan or skillet).
  • Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread. Then layer with arugula, brie, and apple. Top off with the remaining bread slice.
  • Add sandwiches to panini maker and press for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. If you don't have a panini press, you can make these easy sandwiches in a nonstick skillet or grill pan, much like you make grilled cheese sandwiches. Place another heavy pan on top of the sandwich while cooking if desired to get a panini press effect.
  • Serve the panini with cheese and crackers and riesling.
