Turkey Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Chipotle Sauce use more or less according to spice preference
  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Onion sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup Mushrooms sliced
  • 4 oz Colby cheese sliced
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 8 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 8 slices Tomato
  • 4 Pickles halved
  • 4 oz Potato chips

Instructions

  • Preheat a skillet or oven safe pan over medium heat. Also preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl, mix together the ketchup, mayo, and chipotle sauce.
  • Season ground turkey with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Use your hands to form mixture into equal patties.
  • Add the oil to the pan. Place the burgers in the pan along with the onions and mushrooms (stirring occasionally) and sear the burgers on both sides to golden brown. Transfer the pan to the oven and continue cooking to an internal temperature of 160°F using a thermometer. When the burger is close to done, melt the cheese over top.
  • Toast the buns golden brown. Spread the ketchup mayo mix on the bun.
  • Layer the bun with lettuce, tomato seasoned with salt and pepper, the burger topped with onions and mushrooms. Serve with pickles and chips.
