Ingredients
Texas Brisket Sandwich:
- 1 TBSP Brown sugar
- 1 TBSP Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 3 lb Beef brisket
- 2 Brioche buns sub hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup Barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup Coleslaw optional
- 2 Pickle spears optional, for serving
Amber Ale:
- 24 oz Amber ale
Instructions
- Prep all ingredients per instructions above.
- Preheat the oven to 300℉ (148℃).
- Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to make the dry rub.
- Pat the brisket dry with paper towels. Rub the dry rub all over the brisket, covering all sides. Wrap the brisket in foil and place fat side up onto a baking sheet. Cook in the oven 1 hour for each pound.
- Shut the oven and let it rest for about 30 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Place a generous amount of sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Place the top half of the bun over the brisket.
- Serve the Texas brisket sandwiches alongside coleslaw, pickles, and amber ale.
