Ingredients

Texas Brisket Sandwich:

  • 1 TBSP Brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 3 lb Beef brisket
  • 2 Brioche buns sub hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Coleslaw optional
  • 2 Pickle spears optional, for serving

Amber Ale:

  • 24 oz Amber ale

Instructions

  • Prep all ingredients per instructions above.
  • Preheat the oven to 300℉ (148℃).
  • Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to make the dry rub.
  • Pat the brisket dry with paper towels. Rub the dry rub all over the brisket, covering all sides. Wrap the brisket in foil and place fat side up onto a baking sheet. Cook in the oven 1 hour for each pound.
  • Shut the oven and let it rest for about 30 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
  • Assemble the sandwiches: Place a generous amount of sliced brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Place the top half of the bun over the brisket.
  • Serve the Texas brisket sandwiches alongside coleslaw, pickles, and amber ale.
