Ingredients

Pastry

  • Nonstick spray
  • 4 oz Crescent roll dough use amount needed
  • 4 TBSP Cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 can Apple pie filling use amount needed
  • 3 TBSP Powdered sugar divided
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 1/8 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp Milk

Milk

  • 24 oz Milk cold

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF (176°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray. Cut the crescent roll dough into a 3-inch by 5-inch rectangle and place it onto the greased baking sheet. Repeat for more portions. Cut the remaining dough into oblong triangles (see picture). Set aside.
  • Make the cream cheese filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, 1/3 of the powdered sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the base layer of the dough, leaving the edges bare. Spoon pie filling on top of the cream cheese layer (use the amount needed for good coverage).
  • Now, take the oblong triangles and place them over the filling, pressing both sides into the outer edge of the dough. Alternate the triangle's broadside and pointed side down the length of the pastry (see picture).
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool for about 5 minutes.
  • Make glaze: combine the remaining powdered sugar and milk and whisk until smooth. Drizzle evenly over pastry. Portion and serve with milk.
