Ingredients

Burgers

  • 8 oz Ground beef (Black Angus recommended)
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 TBSP Carolina BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Hamburger buns
  • 1 cup Romaine lettuce

Sides

  • 1 cup Carrots peeled and cut into sticks or use baby carrots
  • ½ cup Hummus

Mango Lassi

  • cups Frozen mango
  • ¾ cup Plain yogurt
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • ¼ tsp Ground cardamom
  • 1 TBSP Sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  • Prep all ingredients as described above.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, BBQ sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until fully combined. Form the mixture into patties.
  • Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties on each side until they reach your desired temperature. Melt cheese over the burgers during the last minute of cooking.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until golden brown.
  • Layer the bun with lettuce, the burger patty, and a drizzle of additional BBQ sauce if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
  • To make the mango lassi, combine frozen mango, yogurt, milk, cardamom powder, and sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Serve the burgers with carrot sticks and hummus, and mango lassi.

Rare: 115 - 120°F (46 - 48°C)
Medium Rare: 125 - 130°F (51 - 54°C)
Medium: 135 - 140°F (57 - 60°C)
Medium Well: 145 - 150°F (62 - 65°C)
Well Done: 160°F (71°C)
