Ingredients
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
- 1 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves Garlic sliced
- ¼ cup Onion diced small
- 8 oz Ground beef
- 2 cups Crushed tomatoes preferably San Marzano tomatoes
- 4 oz Spaghetti Whole wheat
- 2 TBSP Fresh basil chopped
- 2 tsp Parmesan cheese grated
Peas
- 1 tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cups Green peas
Lemon Sparkling Water
- 24 oz Sparkling water
- 1 Lemon sliced
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients as instructed above.
- Heat a pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, then sauté the sliced garlic and diced onion until softened.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and season generously with salt and pepper. Partially cover with a lid and simmer on low for 30–35 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving pasta water if desired.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the pot with the meat sauce and mix well to coat. Stir in chopped basil.
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Saute the green peas, stirring occasionally, until hot, about 2 - 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine the sparkling water and lemon. Serve over ice if desired.
- Serve the spaghetti with parmesan cheese, alongside peas, and lemon sparkling water.
