Apple Craisin Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 Apple sliced
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts
  • 3 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 4 oz Chicken sausage links sliced
  • 1/2 cup Dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Kiwi peeled and diced

Instructions

  • Add apples, walnuts, sugar, and butter to a non-stick pan. Cook over low-medium heat, then stir in the cinnamon and vanilla. Allow it to reduce into a syrup consistency until the apples are tender.
  • Add the milk and oats to a saucepan over medium heat and stir until combined. Cook according to the instructions on the package. Season with salt. Once cooked, cover with a lid and set aside.
  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and brown the sausage slices on both sides.
  • Spoon the apples over the oatmeal, top with cranberries and kiwi, and serve with chicken sausage.
