Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Steak seasoning Montreal steak seasoning or equivalent
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz American cheese sliced, or your choice of cheese
  • 4 Hamburger buns toasted
  • 8 leaves Lettuce iceberg or romaine
  • 8 slices Tomato
  • 2 Pickles sliced into rounds
  • Ketchup

Instructions

  • Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Preheat the oven broiler on low.
  • Mix together the ground beef, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Season generously with salt and pepper, and form into patties. Cook burgers to desired doneness (see below) using a thermometer. When the burger is 3/4 of the way cooked to your liking, add the cheese and place under the oven broiler to melt.
  • Toast the buns. Place the burger on the bun with lettuce and tomato. Serve with pickles and ketchup or your choice of condiments.

Notes

Steak Internal Temperatures:
  • Rare: 115 - 120 degrees F
  • Medium Rare: 125 - 130 degrees F
  • Medium: 135 - 140 degrees F
  • Medium Well: 145 - 150 degrees F
  • Well Done: 160 degrees F
