Ingredients
Pumpkin French Toast Sticks
- 2 Eggs
- ½ cup Pumpkin puree
- ¼ cup Milk (of your choice)
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Ground ginger
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 4 slices Thick-cut bread (of your choice)
- 2 TBSP Butter
- 4 TBSP Maple syrup
Fresh Fruit:
- 1 cup Your choice of fruit (such as berries, banana slices, or seasonal).
Milk:
- 16 oz Milk cold
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, pumpkin puree, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt until well combined. This is your French toast batter.
- Trim the crusts from the bread slices and cut them into sticks, about 1 inch wide.
- Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add 1 TBSP of butter. Let it melt and coat the pan evenly.
- Arrange your serving plates, forks, and glasses for milk on the dining table. Place fresh fruit and maple syrup in serving bowls.
- Dip each breadstick into the pumpkin batter, coating it well on all sides. Allow any excess batter to drip off.
- Place the coated sticks in the preheated skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Repeat until all sticks are cooked. Add more butter to the pan if needed.
- Transfer the cooked French toast sticks onto serving plates.
- Serve the warm French toast sticks with maple syrup for dipping and fresh fruit on the side. Enjoy with a glass of milk.
