French Toast with Maple Syrup
- 2 large Eggs
- ½ cup Milk
- ½ tsp Ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp Vanilla extract
- 4 slices Your choice of bread (thick-sliced preferred)
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Maple syrup for serving
Fruit
- 2 cups Fresh fruit (e.g., berries, sliced bananas, or oranges)
Milk
- 16 oz Milk
Instructions
- Wash and cut the fruit as needed.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not overly soaked. Allow excess egg mixture to drip off of the bread slices.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.
- Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet or griddle and cook for 2 - 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining slices.
- Divide the cooked French toast slices between two plates.
- Top with fresh fruit of your choice.
- Drizzle the French toast with maple syrup according to taste.
- Serve with a glass of milk on the side. Enjoy immediately!
