Creamy Vanilla Porridge with Brown Sugar Apples

Ingredients

Creamy Vanilla Porridge:

  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cups Milk
  • ½ cup Heavy cream or half-n-half
  • ½ Vanilla bean split seeds scraped
  • 1 Apple peeled and cut into thin wedges
  • 1 TBSP Brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP Honey

Coffee:

  • Coffee
  • Your choice of sweetener
  • Your choice of creamer

Instructions

  • Place oats, milk, cream, vanilla pod and seeds in a saucepan over low-medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats are tender and the mixture is thick and creamy (you can add a little more milk if it becomes too thick).
  • For the brown sugar apples, place the apples, sugar, and honey in a saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until the apples are tender, golden, and sticky.
  • While the apples finish cooking.
  • Brew and prepare the coffee to your liking.
  • Pour the porridge into a bowl, top with apples, and drizzle with some of the honey syrup, serve with coffee.
