Cottage Cheese Toast with Tomato and Onion
- 2 TBSP Red onion chopped
- 1 Tomato small, diced
- 2 slices Your choice of bread
- ½ cup Cottage cheese
- ½ tsp Extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- ¼ tsp Dried oregano
Cottage Cheese Toast with Lox
- 2 TBSP Red onion chopped
- 1 tsp Fresh dill roughly chopped
- 2 slices Your choice of bread
- ½ cup Cottage cheese
- 2 oz Lox (smoked salmon)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brew and prepare the coffee according to your preference.
- Gather all the ingredients for the cottage cheese toast and place them on the kitchen counter for easy access.
- For the cottage cheese toast with tomato and onion, finely chop the onion and dice the tomato. Set them aside.
- For the cottage cheese toast with lox, slice the onion and roughly chop the dill. Set it aside.
- Toast the bread slices until they reach your desired level of crispiness.
- Spread a generous amount of cottage cheese evenly over each slice of toasted bread.
- On half of the cottage cheese toast slices, spread the chopped onion and diced tomato evenly over the cottage cheese.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the cottage cheese layer.
- Sprinkle it with sea salt, black pepper, and oregano to taste.
- On the other slices of cottage cheese toast, place one slice of lox on top of the cottage cheese.
- Place the thinly sliced onion on the lox.
- Garnish with dill, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare the coffee with sweetener and creamer if desired.
- Serve the cottage cheese toasts immediately alongside a hot cup of coffee. Enjoy your Christmas breakfast!
