Homemade Instructions
Ingredients:
Coffee Cake
½ cup All-purpose flour
¼ cup Granulated sugar
¼ tsp Baking powder
⅛ tsp Baking soda
pinch Salt
2 TBSP Unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup Sour cream
½ tsp Vanilla extract
1 small Egg
1 TBSP Brown sugar
½ tsp Ground cinnamon
¼ cup Nuts, chopped (optional) Instructions: Prep the ingredients per the instructions above.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a small baking dish.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and use a fork or pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate small bowl, combine the sour cream, vanilla extract, and egg. Beat until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
In another small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts (if using).
Add half of the batter into the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle half of the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture over the batter.
Top with the remaining batter, spreading it carefully to cover the filling.
Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar-cinnamon mixture over the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
