Ingredients

Bodega Sauce

  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • 1 TBSP Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Hot sauce (optional)

Chop Cheese

  • 1 TBSP Vegetable oil
  • 8 oz Ground beef
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Kaiser rolls
  • 4 leaves Romaine lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato
  • ½ cup Carrots peeled and cut into 3 inch-long sticks
  • ½ cup Broccoli cut into florets
  • ½ cup Ranch dressing

Sparkling Lemon Water

  • 24 oz Sparkling water
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Prep the ingredients per the instructions above.
  • Prepare Bodega Sauce: In a small bowl, mix ketchup, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and hot sauce (if using). Set aside.
  • Cook Ground Beef: preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Melt Cheese: Place slices of American and cheddar cheese over the cooked ground beef. Let it melt, then mix it into the beef until creamy.
  • Prepare Rolls: Slice the kaiser rolls and toast them in the skillet until golden brown.
  • Assemble Chopped Cheese: Spoon half of the bodega sauce on one slice of each hoagie. Spoon the cheesy ground beef mixture onto the toasted kaiser rolls. Add lettuce and tomato, and drizzle with more bodega sauce if desired. Close the sandwiches.
  • Mix the ingredients together for the sparkling lemon water.
  • Enjoy: Serve the chop cheese with bodega sauce with carrots, broccoli, ranch, and sparkling lemon water.
